Facets generate guesses. This captures facts. Type a seed into TPT's search bar, read the dropdown, paste the suggestions here in the order shown — every one is a phrase real teachers type, ranked by popularity. This also grades the seed's own phrasing for you.
Open the search, look at page one, fill this in. Roughly 90 seconds per keyword once you have the rhythm. Filled rows turn green in the queue.
Both arms are costs: red is how many you compete with, teal is how entrenched page one is. Short arms are good. This ranks how easily you could rank — not how many people search, which no marketplace publishes. Set autocomplete in step 03 to add the demand half.
What the score is. Openness — whether you could realistically rank, given how many listings compete and how established page one is. Competition is the log of the result count; entrenchment is the log of page-one median reviews. Both count against you. Review count is deliberately not treated as demand: high review counts mean money is being made there and that the incumbents are immovable, and with no reviews of your own the second reading is the one that binds.
What the score is not. Demand. No marketplace publishes search volume and nothing here estimates it. Demand only enters the score once you set autocomplete position by hand in step 03 — the only demand signal available anywhere, and it is ordinal, not volume.
What this is not. It carries no live marketplace data — no public API exists for TPT, and browser scraping of Etsy or Amazon is blocked. Every number comes from your own eyes on a results page, which is slower but is real observation rather than an estimate of an estimate. Search URL patterns are best-known-good as of build; if one stops working, edit the SEARCH object near the top of the script.
